BEAVER DAM-Samuel Lee Keown-We are heartbroken to announce the death of our father Samuel Keown.  Samuel Keown, 96, went to his Heavenly home April 2, 2024.  He was at home when he died.  Samuel was born in Echols, KY to the late Homer and Edna Wilson Keown on February 10, 1928.  He was preceded in death by 2 sons-Samuel Keown, Jr. and Danny Joe Keown; a brother, Bill Keown; 3 sisters-Lorene Burden, Mable Robinson and Anna-Mary Kenwright.

Samuel retired from CSX Railroad after 36 years.  He was a faithful long-standing member of Liberty Lighthouse Church of God in Hartford, KY for 28 years.  He along with his wife served as Janitor at the church for 10 plus years.  Samuel loved God and everyone knew that.  He would often speak of God everywhere he went.  Samuel loved all sports but his favorite was to hunt and fish.  He loved his family and enjoyed anytime he was able to spend time with them.  He loved his church family and would always enjoy going to church.  He was always telling stories and always cracking jokes. A Piece of our heart is missing and we will greatly miss him.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years Martha Mounts Keown; 2 sons-James E. Lowery from Evansville and Tom Smith (Karen) from Evansville; 2 daughters-Patty (Kenny) Calvert from Evansville and Tresea (John) Cousert from Evansville; 5 brothers-Johnny (Becky) Keown form Owensboro, Jeff Keown from Owensboro, Kenny (Paula) Kessinger from Florida, Jerry (Janie) Kessinger from Owensboro, Tommy (Jenny) Kessinger from Owensboro; 4 sisters-Brenda Stump from Florida, Dorothy Sue Brown from Louisiana, Theresa Mudd from Owensboro, Sue Jarvis of Beaver Dam; 19 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Services are 1:00PM Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Michael Decker officiating.  Burial will be in Echols Cemetery near Rockport, KY.  Visitation will be from 10AM-1PM Saturday at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent to bevilbrosfuneralhomes.com
